message from executive director

As the current Executive Director of the Bob Hayes Track Meet, I find it to be a very humbling but exciting challenge to Keep, Build, and Enhance what the founders, along with longtime meet director James” Coach” Day, created over sixty-plus years ago. The Bob Hayes Invitational Track Meet is one of the nation's premier high school track meets.

Looking back over my years as a participant in this historic meet, I remember the thrill of being a Bob Hayes Champion and realizing that “if you win at the Bob Hayes, you can win anywhere.” This holds true for many who have participated and gone on to achieve awesome things in track and field as well as other successful endeavors in other fields.

Our current venue is one of the best faculties in North America, and the excitement, passion, partnerships, and excellent running of the Bob Hayes Track Meet remain second to none.

For the last 40 years, I have been the Bob Hayes Invitational Meet announcer. Olympic and Super Bowl Champion Bob Hayes and former meet director James “Coach” Day would always say, “Greg, make this a great experience for everyone and keep it about the kids"!

I accepted that challenge, and with your support, we will achieve this for all our young participants. Remember, Bob Hayes is more than a track meet—it's an experience!

Gratefully,
